Everything you need to know about Fuel Lock
What is it?
Starting today, you will need to unlock your Uber Freight card in the Branch app before you swipe it when fueling up.
Why are we doing it?
Fuel Lock provides an additional layer of fraud protection at the pump—keeping you and your information secure from unauthorized transactions.
How do I use Fuel Lock?
- Before swiping your card, open the Branch App on your phone and click the fuel icon to unlock fuel spending.

- You’ll then have 30 minutes to fuel up and pay before fuel spending will be re-locked.
- This way, only you can authorize a fuel transaction on your card.
- We’ll decline any fuel transaction that you don’t authorize, keeping your money safe.
Pay at the pump is coming soon to Loves and TA-Petro, but for now you’ll still need to pay inside
Does this feature apply to other transactions?
This feature is just for fuel at the pump, and won’t apply to other transactions.
What do I do if my phone dies or I can’t get a signal?
If you can’t get your phone to unlock, simply call 1-833-548-0319 to have it manually unlocked. Or you can go inside to pay at the register.
What if I’m filling up my regular car and not my truck?
Yes, you’ll need to turn on Fuel Lock whenever you get gas at the pump.
Is this only for Diesel?
No; This is for any type of fuel, whenever you are filling up at the pump.
What if I’m paying inside?
If you’re paying inside, you don’t need to press the Fuel Lock button. In cases when you are not getting service or not able to access your Branch app, going inside to pay will always work.
