If your Branch card isn't working with a chip reader, try these steps:
-
Use Apple Pay or Google Wallet

To ensure a smooth payment experience, you can use the Branch app to connect your card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet. By doing so, you can attempt to complete your purchase using this alternative contactless payment method.
Some merchants may not accept tap-to-pay due to older or incompatible card readers. In such cases, try transferring funds or shopping elsewhere.

Transfer Funds to Another Bank
If the contactless payment option is not viable, you can use the Branch app to transfer funds from your Branch account to an external checking account. This allows you to access the necessary funds to complete your purchase through your linked external account.

Important to Note:

It's essential to distinguish a chip issue from a card decline, as compatibility issues may happen even if your Branch card account has enough funds for the purchase.
